I must admit that I am one of the laziest person ever lived on earth. That’s why you can see most of my blogposts are very short. I rarely have the patient to write anything longer than 300 words, unless if I have a strong reason to do that.
I personally believe that long blogposts are useless unless if you can keep your reader to read whatever that you are writing.
Stuart Brown wrote an interesting article about his observation on the length of blogposts and he states that anything between 100 to 250 words is fine because not every reader are going to read everything that you will write anyway. Just make sure that you get your message delivered and do not drift too much from your topic.
Yuwanda Black says the blogposts length doesn’t matter but it is important to maintain the momentum and post regularly so that your readers will come back for more fresh contents. That makes sense, right?
It is perfectly fine to write short blogposts if you update your blogs frequently. But it would be good if you write something longer if you update your blog less than 4 times a week.
But writing short blogposts is definitely not going to help much if you’re targeting long tail keywords for your blog. You need to make your content to be long enough and search engine optimized so that you can rank for your desired keywords.
So, it is entirely up to your preference, whether you want your blogposts to be short or long.
